American Bar
American Bar is the new West Village project from Kyle Hotchkiss Carone and partners David Rabin and Jeff Kadish, whose New York restaurants include Clover and its adjacent shop Clover Grocery. Designed by Melissa Bowers, the restaurant's interior takes its inspiration from 1980s English members' clubs.
Hotchkiss Carone commissioned Luke to paint a set of lamp shades for American Bar in homage to Bemelmans Bar, with the idea of bringing a little uptown magic to the West Village.
Luke also designed American Bar's menu and postcards. Motifs including the restaurant’s whippet logo and colourful cocktails feature throughout the illustrations.
